California Privacy Notice (CCPA / CPRA)

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA").
Categories of Personal Information Collected
In the past 12 months we have collected:
- Identifiers: name, email, account handle, IP address.
- Internet/network activity: pages viewed, referring URL, votes, submissions, device/browser type.
- Professional information (optional): credentials, license numbers, affiliations, links to professional profiles.
- Inferences: ranking/heat scores derived from your activity.

Directly from you, automatically from your device when you use the Service, and from third-party identity providers (e.g., Google) if you sign in with them.
Purposes
To operate the Service, rank content, verify credentials, prevent abuse, comply with law, and communicate with you.
Sale or Sharing
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under CPRA. If we ever did, we would treat a Global Privacy Control signal or a request submitted via our Opt-Out page as a valid opt-out.
Sensitive Personal Information
We collect professional license numbers as sensitive PI for credential verification. We use this only for that purpose and do not use or disclose it for inferring characteristics about you. You have the right to limit our use of sensitive PI; to do so, email the address below.
Your California Rights
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell or share.
- Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of any sale or sharing (see above).
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
How to Submit a Request
Email privacy@bestexpertanswers.com with the subject "California Privacy Request" and describe your request. We will verify your identity (typically by matching against the email on file) before fulfilling it. Authorized agents may submit on your behalf with written permission. We respond within 45 days (extendable once for 45 more if necessary).
